SPRING CLEANING AT EASTER SEALS
Agency:
Easter Seals
Location: Ontario
Occurrence: Saturdays

Easter Seals Child Development Center located in Ontario helps kids achieve academically and socially.  Their services also provide family support to ensure that children get what they need to succeed as students.

To keep the Child Development Center a clean and safe environment for the children who attend the center, HandsOn Inland Empire would like to bring volunteers in once a month to apply some “tender loving care” to the facility to keep things looking nice. The “spring cleaning” we do varies from month to month, but can include gardening, raking, vacuuming, decorating the center or anything else we can do to make this facility a fun place to learn and grow.

Easter Seals provides exceptional services to ensure that all people with disabilities or other special needs and their families have equal opportunities to live, learn, work and play in their communities.

ARTS AND CRAFTS WITH KIDS

Helping Hands
Location: Ontario

Helping Hands offers kinship support services to families and their children. Once a month we are looking for a group of volunteers to engage their youth group in fun and educational arts and crafts activities.

Helping Hands is a program of Mental Health Systems, Inc Community Support Division. Their goal is to strengthen and help sustain kinship families in San Bernardino County so that children can stay connected to their families, culture, language and traditions, while living in a safe, healthy and stable home.

DANCING WITH THE STARS

: Pomona Valley Workshop
Location: Montclair
Occurrence: Friday 5pm-9:30pm

Pomona Valley Workshop offers monthly themed dinner dances for men and women with developmental disabilities. These dances are held on the first Friday of each month from 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm.

Volunteers are needed to serve food, take pictures, chaperone, dance with the clients, decorate and clean up after the dance. Help out, have fun, and make some new friends on a Friday night.

Since 1966, PVW has provided a wide range of quality services to meet the diverse employment and social needs of adults who have developmentally disabilities that include autism, down syndrome and cerebral palsy.

Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age. All volunteers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent and have their parent or guardian complete a HOIE Liability and Release form for Minors.

CONVERSATION CAFÉ

Occurrence: Weekday evenings, flexible

Has a conversation ever changed the way you felt about the world? When is the last time you had a great conversation about something that interested you?

Join us as we explore the issues that shape our community at a Conversation Cafe. These 90-minute informal and informative conversations are part of a year-round series of thought provoking discussions designed to educate and inspire us to become more active in our communities. They are an opportunity for open dialogue facilitated by a Project Leader, no ideologies are promoted, all opinions and ideas are welcome.

Volunteer must be 16 years of age.

RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE BREAKFAST CLUB

Loma Linda Ronald McDonald House
Location: Loma Linda
Occurrence: 2nd Wednesday
Time: 8am-10am

The Loma Linda Ronald McDonald House (LLRMH) is a “home-away-from-home” for families with children undergoing treatment for cancer and other serious illnesses at Loma Linda Children’s Hospital and other nearby facilities.

An excellent way to get involved with the families at the Ronald McDonald House is to help prepare meals.
The families are often tired and stressed after long days at the hospital and through this program volunteers are given the unique and fulfilling opportunity to prepare a home cooked breakfast.

Each month we are looking for a group of volunteers to join the Ronald McDonald House breakfast club to offer some relief to these families by cooking a meal that is not often provided. Volunteers will prepare breakfast and help maintain the kitchen.
Individual volunteers or families are welcome.

Volunteers must be at least 13 years of age. 13 year olds must be accompanied by a parent. All volunteers under the age of 18 must have their parent or guardian complete a HOIE Liability and Release form for Minors.

SOCIALIZING WITH SENIORS

Plymouth Village
Location: Redlands
Occurrence: 2nd Monday and 4th Tuesday
Time: 8am-10am, 2pm-3:30pm

 Plymouth Village is a retirement community dedicated to serving residents with the best of care, services, and community spirit. Here's your chance to make a difference and develop a rewarding relationship with someone who will deeply value your company.

Volunteers are needed Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays to participate in various activities with the residents.

Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age.

Service 101: Environment and Sustainability

Location: Various
Occurrence: 3rd Saturday of March, April, May and June
Time: 10am-12pm

Service 101 is a team based volunteering program that operates once-a-month as a series over four months. A small team of 8-15 volunteers will dedicate two hours once a month for four months to learn of the issues that plague the environment globally and therefore affect their local communities. They will work towards creating a sustainable plant and community by volunteering at four non-profit agencies that serve to promote environmental sustainability. Here’s the schedule:

Recycle-March 21Reduce-April 18: Reuse- May 16: Remove-June 20
