TeamConnect tackles the Four R's
In May, TeamConnect's Summer 2008 session kicked off. Their goal? To tackle one project each month from May through August, exploring the four R’s: Revive, Refresh, Restock, Renew!
PROJECT ONE - MAY: REVIVE: Ten volunteers picked and raked their way through 650 sq. feet of weeds, trash and rock to transform a jungle into a recreational space at A Place Along the Way, a homeless shelter for teens in Fontana.
Donations from The Home Depot allowed the volunteers to plant flowers and assemble a picnic table, and Burrtec donated four (FOUR!) containers for trash removal. “It’s beautiful to be helping with such a worthy cause,” team member Carolyn Villerreal said. “What I really took away from that moment was seeing the smiles on their faces from the transformation, from the small change we were able to make.”
