 Love Animals? Spread that love by providing companionship to dogs and cats at shelters.

Volunteers will socialize dogs, cats, puppies and kittens by walking, playing and showering them with affection and attention. We'll also help around the shelter by filling water bowls, cleaning cat furniture, and generally lending a hand.

The shelter is a safe haven for abandoned animals from shelters across the region, and animals whose owners can no longer keep. Their purpose is to make sure the animals that come to the facility are spayed or neutered then placed into permanent, loving homes. YAPS is one of the few no kill shelter in the county.

Volunteers must be at least 12 years of age.  All volunteers under the age of 18 must have their parent or guardian complete a HOIE Liability and Release form for Minors. For more information and to download the form, Click here.
